Strata Council

STEVE McMULLEN

Council President

The West Coast of British Columbia is arguably the most beautiful place on the planet.  Here in Nanaimo we have fresh air, clean clear water, a mild climate ideal for gardening and hiking, and great fishing.

Susan and I moved to Long Lake Heights in 2013 and as each year passes we appreciate the geographic location near lots of malls and boat launches.   It was the unique character of the neighbourhood that led us to choose this particular spot to enjoy retirement.  Six years later we still know we landed in the right place. I retired six years ago from a management career in the northern BC forest industry.  In the beginning I spent almost all of my time hiking in the forest or building roads and bridges, but towards the end I was more occupied with setting goals and directing the activities of others.  I was also heavily involved with a large joint venture between the forest industry and First Nations, which was a rewarding use of my energy. My main goal as a member of the strata council is to ensure that the infrastructure here is well maintained so that it enhances property values, and to keep the beautiful atmosphere of Long Lake Heights.

DOMENICO LANNIDINARDO

Vice-President

Having lived here with my wife since 2006 and been on council in one form or another (including several as president) since 2010, I’m fully committed to contributing to this community and appreciate the opportunity.  We’re now happily raising our kids in this spectacular environment.  I’m a forester by trade and I’m always looking for ways to ensure the natural splendour of BC remains a prominent feature in this beautiful community in the middle of an otherwise bustling city. Please send me any suggestions at anytime.

TERRILL MACDONALD

Grounds & Communication

When our family moved to Nanaimo from Toronto, we purchased our home in Long Lake Heights. That was 27 years ago and I still appreciate the unique, natural beauty of where I live. In the past, I volunteered as a member of the Grounds and Beautification Committee and am currently serving my 5th term as a Council member. I am a retired teacher and am enjoying my second career working part-time with the Faculty of Education at Vancouver Island University. As chair of the Grounds and Communication Committee, my goals are to ensure our common property is maintained at a level that enhances and protects our community well into the future and to support and build a strong sense of community amongst the homeowners.

Strata Manager

Lisa Maniquet

I moved to Nanaimo in 2015 from the lower mainland where I worked as a Paralegal for 16 years.  Prior to that I worked in legal administrative positions.  I am now on my fifth year of Strata Management and really enjoy the collaboration with Long Lake’s Council members and working together with the homeowners to help keep Long Lake one of the most desirable places to live in the Nanaimo area.
